Resident Assistant

Leo Andrade

Leonardo, or simply Leo, is a Junior who is premed and majoring in Human Biology with an emphasis in neuroscience and biomedical sciences. He comes from a small town in the Central Valley named Lindsay, an agricultural town known for its production of oranges and olives. The town even has its own brand of Olives!!! His parents, like many others in the area, emigrated from Mexico and worked in the fields picking crops to support their families. Growing up in this immigrant rich community, he learned about the hardships these regions may go through and dedicated himself to advocating for his community. With the help of his parents and mentors, Leo learned how to overcome the hardships life may bring and push to be a better version of himself. Leo continues to advocate for communities wherever he goes. On most weekends, Leo volunteers in Cardinal Free Clinics and helps in their mission of providing free healthcare to marginalised communities in San Jose and Menlo Park. He aspires to become a neurosurgeon and provide care to underserved patients. During the quarter, you can find Leo in class, studying at the Haas Center, exploring downtown, or hanging out in the dorm lounge. His  hobbies consist of playing intramural soccer and volleyball and old school film photography. In the upcoming year, he hopes to host amazing events and capture the memories with his camera. He is excited to see y’all!
